1. Reminder: Fox Trust funding requests deadline
is June 1st. Please contact office for form.
2. Adult Sunday School class led
by Scott Honnen will begin a new study today. The study is called “Meeting
God” and will be a study of the Psalms to help us get through the highs and lows
of life. Class meets upstairs SW corner. New class members always welcome.
3.
New Sunday School Class Beginning: A new Sunday School class for
Young Adults will begin this morning. They will meet in the classroom on the
office level beside the chapel. Karmen Birdsell & Gregg Kreps are giving
leadership. Come and join them and grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
4.
Mother’s Day Brunch hosted by Hamilton’s is today, 110 N. East,
benefiting Jubilee Habitat for Humanity. The buffet features carved pit ham,
hunter style breast of chicken and a variety of breakfast and other lunch
items. Entertainment by Ken Bradbury will enliven the day, and a flower will be
given to each mother by Ashley’s Petals & Angels.
5. The UMW’s annual Mother/Daughter Banquet is
Monday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
6. Today we will celebrate Golden Cross Sunday.
We will receive a special offering for the UM institutions in the IGRC. Some of
these include: Baby Fold, Chaddock, and Sunset Home.
7. Volunteers are needed to help with our UM Habitat
House which is being built at 1037 Beesley Street. If you can help with
construction, contact Karen Houston or call the church office. The group
works every Saturday morning beginning at 8:00 a.m. Centenary is responsible
for refreshments on Saturday, May 24. If you can help provide food or deliver
it at 10:00 a.m. that day, contact Martha Vaché the church office.
8. There are still dates open to
be filled in for mowing the church yard. Sign up in the Narthex.
9.
Please notify the Church office of graduates you know. Call or
e-mail the church office to tell us who is graduating, their degree, the
institution and names of family members. The church will recognize them in May.
10. RELAY FOR LIFE team
meeting at church May 14 at 6:00 p.m. If anyone is interested in joining our
team, please come to our meeting. If you cannot make it but would still like to
be a part of the team, please let Karmen Birdsell or Gregg Kreps know. Our
current team, Centenary Cancer Crusaders, consists of the following people:
Martha & Lou Vaché, Priscilla Hacker, Peggy Jordan, Angi Freitag, Leslie
Sparrow, Larry Brown, Karmen Birdsell, and Gregg Kreps. We would love to have
more people join us in this great cause to fight cancer!
11. JUNIOR HIGH AND SENIOR YOUTH:
MAY 25: Meeting 4 – 6 p.m.
JUNE: I am still trying to work out a date for a weekend mission trip

13. Reminder: Please remember to turn off
lights, lock the doors and turn water off when you finish using the church.

14. There will be a basket in the narthex for the
ongoing collection of diapers and wipes.
15. PRAYER IN THE
CHAPEL:
The chapel will be open each Sunday morning by 7:45 a.m. for
you to
come in and be in prayer for the morning worship services, please pray
for all the leaders and participants in those services and for the Sunday School
program. Your prayers will make a difference in enabling those experiences to
enable people to come to know and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
